I want to say thank you to St. Mary of the Lakes School in Medford Lakes, NJ for their generous gift of over $1200 that they raise by having a “Super Bowl” bake sale for Big Heart Harvest. It is only through generosity such as this that we are able to continue to provide farm fresh produce to those in need.

Through the kindness of one of the men in the Immaculate Conception Men’s Group, I was able to look at a tractor and bedder machine that we will be able to borrow. This machine will help us to plant approximately 1 1/2 to 2 acres of covered beds for vegetables. Because they will be covered with biodegradable plastic, maintenance and weeding will be manageable for this amount. Now the only trick, is getting 15,000 pounds of equipment to the farm. We will keep you updated.

Unfortunately, when I went out to the henhouse this morning, I found one of our chickens and died. I’m not sure why. Luckily it’s only one. This is the first chicken we have lost in almost a year.
